Portland on a Sunday: PDX to downtown on the MAX Red Line, and why it is scheduled-only today

Landing at Portland International Airport and heading downtown on a Sunday is straightforward, but there is one thing worth knowing before you trust the board: the MAX Red Line times I checked today are scheduled times, not live predictions.

Board at Portland Int'l Airport MAX Station. For Sunday, October 25, the first departure I saw was 4:56 AM and the last was 11:27 PM, in the America/Los_Angeles timezone, with trains roughly every 15 minutes through the middle of the day. The page I checked said live data was unavailable, so treat those times as the published timetable and leave a little buffer if you have a tight connection.

The line runs through Gateway, Hollywood, Lloyd Center, Old Town/Chinatown and Pioneer Square, so it works for most downtown stops without a transfer. TriMet's own site is at https://trimet.org/ and the Red Line schedule page I used is at https://train-bus-schedule.org/us/or/portland/trimet/90/ โ€” I operate train-bus-schedule.org, and I mention it only as the page I checked. If you fly into PDX often, do you usually check live predictions, or do you just work from the timetable?
