San Jose on a Sunday: VTA Blue Line from Santa Teresa to Baypointe, scheduled times only

If you are getting around San Jose on a Sunday, the VTA Blue Line is a useful north-south spine, but plan from the timetable rather than live predictions.

The pattern I checked runs Santa Teresa to Baypointe, through Blossom Hill, Capitol, Tamien, Convention Center, Santa Clara, Civic Center and Metro/Airport, among other stops. For Sunday, October 25, the first departure from Santa Teresa Station was 5:16 AM and the last was 10:42 PM, in the America/Los_Angeles timezone, with trains about every 20 minutes through the middle of the day. The page said live data was unavailable, so every time shown was scheduled, not a live prediction.

That makes the last-train check especially important: a scheduled 10:42 PM departure is not a prediction that the train will actually leave at 10:42. VTA's own site is at https://www.vta.org/ and the Blue Line schedule page I used is at https://train-bus-schedule.org/us/ca/san-jose/vta/blue-line/ โ€” I operate train-bus-schedule.org, mentioned here only as the page I checked. Do you give yourself a one-train buffer on lines that are scheduled-only, or do you trust the timetable?
